CNC Parts Can Be Supplied Loose or Taken Further
Some projects are complete when the CNC-machined components have been checked, grouped and prepared for collection.
Others need additional workshop work before they are ready for customer assembly, installation, display, sale or use.
Cut It produces the parts. Build It prepares, joins, assembles or finishes them to the agreed project outcome.
Build It is optional. The required workshop scope and level of completion are confirmed before the additional work proceeds.

Build It begins with an approved component design and a documented definition of how far the workshop work must proceed.
1 - You Approve
Before Build It begins, you confirm:
The current component design and revision.
The required level of completion.
Materials, visible faces and appearance requirements.
Assembly, fit and hardware requirements.
Who supplies the hardware and finishing products.
Any samples or trial-assembly requirements.
External trade, collection, delivery or installation scope.
The intended final use.
The approved information becomes the basis of the Build It quote and workshop scope.
2 - Williamstown CNC Works Builds
Depending on the approved project, we may:

Laminate, bond or join parts.

A Different Build It Scope for Every Project
Sculptural and Three-Dimensional Work
A sculptural project may begin with 3D scanning and CAD development, continue through 3D CNC carving and finish with hand shaping, assembly and surface treatment.
Timber Signs and Routed Graphics
A timber sign may require CNC routing, sanding, painted infill and a hand-applied protective finish.
Consoles, Enclosures and Specialty Cabinetry
A detailed enclosure may combine CNC-machined panels, edgebanding, specialist joinery, hardware, assembly and an externally applied 2K finish.
Marine, Timber and Composite Assemblies
A marine or specialist timber project may include CNC-cut components, solid timber, laminating, epoxy bonding, glass fibre, fitting and hand finishing.
These are examples of possible project pathways, not fixed service packages. Each project is reviewed and scoped around the required result.
Solid Timber and Board Preparation
Suitable projects may include rough-sawn board breakdown, solid timber machining, shaped components and material preparation connected to the documented build.
Laminating and Curved Work
Plywood, MDF, timber and composite layers can be laminated into thicker, curved or built-up components. Curved laminations and steam-bent timber may be considered where the design and material suit the process.
Specialist Joinery and Assembly
We can produce fitted joints, assembled components, specialty cabinetry, consoles and enclosures where the CNC geometry and workshop work are developed as one project.
Epoxy and Glass-Fibre Work
Our wooden boatbuilding and composite experience supports suitable epoxy bonding, laminating, filling, coating and glass-fibre work. WEST SYSTEM products may be used where appropriate to the agreed process.
WORKSHOP CAPABILITY
Experienced Timber, Joinery and Composite Work Applied Selectively
This capability is applied in support of suitable WCW projects. It is not offered as a general standalone joinery, cabinetmaking or composite-repair service.
Surface Preparation and Hand-Applied Finishes
Where finishing forms part of the agreed project, Williamstown CNC Works may provide:
Sanding and surface preparation
Oils and penetrating finishes
Varnishes and clear finishes
Hand-applied paint
Routed or engraved detail infill
Epoxy coatings
Finish preparation before external spraying
The material, required appearance, intended use and finish system must be confirmed before work begins. Samples or test areas may be recommended where appearance is important.
We do not provide in-house spray painting.
Projects requiring professional 2K or other sprayed finishes may be coordinated with an external finishing specialist and quoted separately.
HAND FINISHING

External Processes Can Be Added Where the Project Requires Them
Some CNC-led projects need materials or processes that are better completed by another specialist supplier.
Where suitable, Williamstown CNC Works may coordinate approved external services such as:
Steel frames, brackets or supports.
Specialist metal fabrication.
Powder coating.
Professional 2K or other sprayed finishes.
Other documented project-specific processes.
External services are separately quoted. Supplier pricing, technical requirements, transport and timing must be confirmed before the work is authorised.
Coordination is only offered where the external work supports a suitable Williamstown CNC Works design, CAD, CNC production or Build It project.
Williamstown CNC Works does not provide in-house spray painting and does not operate as a general procurement service for unrelated work.
